I love learning about saints. Hearing their diverse stories and varying paths they took to holiness is inspiring and encouraging. As a lay Dominican, I am particularly drawn to the Dominican Saints. St. Dominic’s family is filled with spirited, joyful men and women of all kinds including St. Catherine of Siena, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Rose of Lima, and St. Martin de Porres as well as many other lesser known members including Blessed Diana.
Blessed Diana was fearless and courageous when it came to overcoming her wealthy family’s objections to entering the Dominican Order. After listening to Blessed Reginald of Orleans preach in her town of Bologna, Italy, she knew her life would be changed forever.
